I reported recently how rock gods were now two-a-penny in Sussex. Well, we might soon have to add to that list Oscar-winning actresses. For the lovely Cate Blanchett has moved into a £3 million red-brick Victorian pile in Crowborough. Near neighbours are reported to be Tom Baker, the greatest Dr Who, and Kerry Katona.
While in LA, the Melbourne-born star of Carol told friends she loves the green of England’s countryside; I commend her taste, and with 13 acres of garden and the Ashdown Forest beyond, she will soon be seeing much more of it. If Kate is new to the squirearchy, I feel she will settle in fast: her children are called Dashiell John, Roman Robert, Ignatius Martin and Edith Vivian Patricia. • For further news, see our new property section
