SCBN run workshops and weekly network meetings along the South Coast to help support ways of expansion and offer you new and exciting ways to help promote your business. As a community we bring the passion and hunger to succeed back into local businesses, providing support through the highs and lows of business life. The whole SCBN Community exist purely to provide vital networking opportunities, which your business will benefit from, and we are investing a considerable amount of time in explanding and nurturing local business.
When I’m out on my weekend drives in the Sussex countryside, I love to travel through the small towns and villages that dot our country roads. To see small communities once again offering village life staples such as butchers, grocers, fruit and veg shops, bakers, local and family owned coffee shops and delicatessens, I can’t help but smile when I see how local shopkeepers have revitalised our towns, simply by doing business.
But being a Main Street business owner is not for the faint of heart. When I see all these small businesses, I know it’s the grit and determination of the local small business community that’s making it happen – and I stop to participate a little in their local economy. Without the support from me and you, these small businesses will slowly fade away, and a slice of British culture will surely die. That is why through our network group, we are committed to helping keep these ventures alive and as a result, allow these small communities to continue to thrive.
When you buy from a small business, you are not helping a CEO buy his vacation home, you are helping a small family earn a living.
You are supporting locally sourced goods and services and you are helping put the heart right back into the community.
Teaching your children about small business, or sharing your thoughts about your dream with your friends, might sound unnecessary but who knows, you might be encouraging a future entrepreneur or even inspiring the next generation of small business owners.
Networking however, is not just about business. SCBN also supports fundraising, charities, or any local group trying to further its reach. We love to hear from old and new entrepreneurs, because knowing their stories can help others succeed in this ever-changing roller coaster ride of business.
Starting your own business is always a daunting task, fraught with worry and concern, but it’s usually a dream worth pursuing. The South Coast Business Network is here to help you with training and advice, but also by offering you the opportunity to meet up with other local business men and women and to share ideas and inspiration. You may be meeting future customers, suppliers, clients or even your next employee at our events, but you will also meet some new friends and a thriving community that’s here for you. See you soon!
